It is important in these challenging times that not only do you keep your employees motivated but you take time out to maintain your focus and vision.
Here are a number of techniques that will help you to manage your business successfully in these difficult times.
Get Support
Firstly, it is important you get support. One of the most difficult things to do is admit that we don’t have all the answers ourselves. One person can’t have all the answers. Seek out possible solutions from people you know. Go to your family, your friends, your co-workers or your personal coach. Get their input, try on some of their ideas, you may find one that fits. Even if you don’t you feel better knowing that you spent your time and effort productively.
Remember Success
Just as important as learning from and overcoming past failure is recalling past success. It doesn’t matter who you are, you have succeeded at something at sometime in your past. Don’t gloss over these moments. Use them to remind you that you can in fact achieve your goals.
Take Ownership
Before positive changes can take place, you must take responsibility for your position in life. You are in control of your future and are the only one who can guarantee a better life. If you play the role of a victim, giving up control and ownership of your life, you will never enjoy the amazing opportunities that life offers to us all.
The Ups and Downs
You will not always be motivated to succeed. We all have our ups and downs expecting anything different will create frustration and anger. We all get upset, encounter setbacks and have bad days, but the secret is – you can visit, but just don’t live there!
Windows of Opportunity
What you see today will not necessarily mirror the picture of tomorrow. In other words things change. You can never know for sure how long the opportunity to act will offer itself. It could vanish tomorrow or in ten years. The point is; today is the certainty in your world – make the best of it! Don’t fear the unknown be courageous.
Envision a Better Day
One of the most powerful ways to stay focused and strong in the face of setback is this quick exercise:-
Simply close your eyes and picture a time when things will be much better. Visualise things going the way you want them to go. Vividly see things unfolding ideally and emotionally, connect to how good you feel once they do. By staying anchored you will remain motivated no matter how tough your current circumstance may be.
It feels to me that the bleak times being portrayed in the media is pushing more and more people to reassess their work and life balance. As an executive business coach and mentor I am delighted to help. I am perfectly positioned to support people as they navigate these uncertain and unsettling times.
Starting in the Right Direction
You may not have realised it, but you’ve already taken a massive step towards success. Simply reading these words demonstrates your desire to enhance your quality of life. Now that you’ve taken the first step keep it going day after day, month after month and year after year.
